When did you introduce salt to your toddler?

Babe is about 1. No salt since he starts solids. Solid starts says not to introduce salt until 2. But what did you do?

Salt isn't something to be wary or afraid of, it's a necessary mineral. The salt intake you need to watch is from processed foods and eating out, not anything homemade. Both my girls started on table foods which were salted and seasoned, I don't make separate meals.

I didn’t overly watch salt intake. But I didn’t add salt while cooking things. 
We just added salt to our own plates at the table. 
My daughter is 14m and has definitely had fast food French fries and other salty things on occasion.

Like 6-7 months. I didn't do purees and baby foods. My kids always immediately started on regular foods and what we ate, which obviously had salt and seasonings in it. I never prepared extra saltless/seasonless meals for my babies. The only time I ever prepared a separate meal was when they were younger than 1 and I used honey in the sauce or marinade.

Solid Starts says “no sugar until 2, but some salt is fine after 1”.

We don't tend to add salt to our food, but if it's used in a recipe I tended to only give it to our son once he hit 18 months. I know Salt is really bad for you, but it occurs naturally in lots of food- so I tried to not get so freaked out. It's such a shame as it tastes SO GOOD when added to meals after cooking, but I feel so damn guilty every time I add it

I wouldn’t add salt to her food unless it was something we were eating. I didn’t really think much about salt. If it was in food that was already prepared, I’d give it to her. But I wouldn’t add salt if I was making something just for her.
