Calling off Appointment

Asked my aunt last Friday if she could babysit my 6month old twins -like she did before. So I could go to my toddler’s weekly physiotherapy on Tuesday. We hadn’t gone for 3 weeks due to Covid. She agreed. Then she calls me Monday morning if I could postpone the appointment because she can’t make it. Wouldn’t give me a reason why, as she normally would if she cancels.

I had my day planned out that my toddler wouldn’t go to daycare and after physiotherapy, we’d have a couple of hours together until our next Appointment to her pediatrician. I ended up canceling physiotherapy on time (26 hours before actual appointment.

Today, I found out my nephew-also a toddler has a cold and my aunt was babysitting.

I had a feeling it had something to do with either my nephew or niece since she wouldn’t give me a reason why she canceled. But I’m pissed off about it, it seemed like she was hiding the reason, it seems like she left us stranded and picked favorites.

My SIL could’ve taken a sick day for her sick child- by law parents can do this where I live!

At least she could’ve been honest. Not sure if I’m being insensitive but it feels like my child’s appointments didn’t matter anymore.

Our physiotherapy appointments continues again in 2 weeks and it’s pretty useless to have such a huge gap.

Just to add, I made arrangements around the day my aunt agreed to babysit. I didn’t expect it but I RELIED on her. She has canceled before and told me why and I never cared. But this was different and the way she went about being sneaky. If she had canceled on me less than 24 hours of appointment, I would pay an expensive fee for not showing up!!!!
