Well you should wait the minimum of 6 weeks and until your doctor clears you at the very least. You have a dinner plate sized wound that places you at high risk for infection. Not worth it. Why would it be so hard to wait?

13 weeks. I was in no way ready at 6 weeks. You should never have sex before your 6 week PP checkup though.

Absolutely wait until you are cleared by your doctor. For most it's around 6 weeks but I've seen some women are cleared around 4-5 weeks. Either way, it's best to wait until then. You have a very large wound where the placenta was. Having sex too soon can cause an infection among other issues. I personally waited until 13 weeks pp because I wasn't ready any sooner than that

I usually get the A-OK from the doctor at 6 weeks, but I always wait until 12 weeks to have sex (penetration). I do have sex the entire pregnancy, so not all bad. And I usually bleed for 4-5 weeks post-pregnancy, but once I am all done bleeding for a few days then my partner and I start having foreplay and massage each other too, daily, so from 5 weeks to 12 weeks, we just foreplay in so many ways but no actual penetration. Then at 12 weeks, we get back to having sex in all ways, forms and fashion and usually daily but if not, at least 5 days a week. 
Everyone is different in when they decide to have sex again. Everyone's body heals differently and everyone has different comfort levels. Do whatever works and feels best and most comfortable for you. 😊😉

I do NOT recommend following my example as it comes with serious risks. We had sex 6 days pp after our oldest then again at 3 weeks. With our youngest we waited 3 weeks.

For me, it took longer than 6 weeks to heal and recover with my first, i had an episiotomy, and was swollen the size of a plum down there, didnt have intercourse until a full 7 months

I’m 8 weeks and still not cleared because of postpartum healing complications, but I’m also still in pain and have no desire so I’m sure it will be at least a few more weeks 😅
