EBF & periods? TMI

My daughter is 1 month old and EBF. I bled (after giving birth) for 2 weeks, then it slowed down and for the last week I've not needed to wear a pad and there's been no blood or discharge when I wipe. This morning when I wiped I noticed a little blood on the tissue, just now I went to the toilet and there was a lot of blood and I've just had to put a pad on just incase. Is this my period returning? Can they come back this early on? I've heard of people not getting one for months, one friend went 8 months without one while breastfeeding.
