Belly button

My son had to have the doctor cauterize his for this same reason. He had a granuloma, basically the stem cells in the umbillical cord base kept growing tissue so it looked exactly like this. Doctor treated it once,( painless for baby) and now he has the cutest little belly button ever :)

Something similar just happened to my besties newborn. She was told to swab it with alcohol until it dries up. 

Same happened to my sons! His fell off at 5 days and it kept bleeding 😞. Worried me to death but it's healing up nicely at 3 weeks and was never infected. 

My baby is 2 1/2 weeks old and hers looked exactly like this!!! Her cord came off after 1 week but left a scab. The scab finally came off a couple days ago and it looks normal now other than a little piece of scab left. I just left it alone until it came off. I was scared to mess with it. My other 2 never had that happen either. 

Similar happening to our man. I think it fell off to early and is creating a second scab..
