I am worried. my bf is going through depression with his current job that he hates, with his learning disability, how his learning disability affects his ability to effectively communicate with me, and how my parents do not accept him. he asked for a week of space and says he needs to get back to feeling like himself again. he wants space away from what happened with my parents and verbatim: "away from me." but as he was saying this, he says things like he feels like he doesn't want to live.

should I give him space? on a normal basis, I would give space. but the fact that suicidal thoughts are involved, makes me second guess giving him space in fear that he would do irreversible harm to himself. it could be a cry for help
