Will your water break if baby is transverse?

Someone was telling me that my body won't go into labor naturally bc my baby is transverse. Is that true? Will my water not break bc baby is still sideways?

This is not true my baby was transverse three years ago and my water broke and he then was head down when I got to hospital

You can go into labor with your baby transverse. Your waters may or may not break at that’s pint (most peoples water doesn’t break until later in labor regardless of the babies position). But if your baby is transverse at time of labor they will most likely give you a c-section. Often they’ll try an turn the baby before labor begins and if it doesn’t work they’ll move straight to a c-section at that point. This is because going into labor and having your waters break with baby laying transverse is risky and it’s pretty much impossible to deliver a transverse baby vaginally anyway.

Labor can start with contractions too. My water has never broken before transition and my babies have been head down. I just have contractions.
