So want some advice please

I was sick Tuesday at 12am I’d say and only the once and then the Wednesday I had a serve headache and no more sickness and then woke up today with pain in my back and ribs. Feel light headed and now started with light brown discharge in my nickers ? Is this normal for period starting or should I be preparing for missing my period and taking a test ?
