My baby is 2 weeks now and I was exclusively nursing the first few days until the pediatrician told me my baby was losing weight and to supplement with formula. Baby lost interest in latching after she took the bottle and I started exclusive pumping for a week now. I pump every 2-3 hrs except at night with a 4-6hrs break. Every time I pump I get only about 15ml total. My friend said to keep pumping the volume will increase suddenly. But I’m losing hope. Is the volume supposed to increase gradually each time I continue pumping or it will suddenly increase one day? I have seen a lactation consultant to confirm that I’m using the pump correctly.
