How much does Ultrasound cost?

Ok. I am under my husband for insurance. I thought the insurance is ok, but it sucks. We get charged over $200 for an ultrasound and the insurance only paid $68, and we have like $160 left. Is this reasonable?

Call the insurance company and ask them what constitutes as "prenatal care" and how much of it is covered. Some insurances only cover the 20 week anatomy scan, so if you wanted/needed a dating scan in 1st trimester, then it would barely be covered. Something like that could have occurred. But if you have a cheap plan with high deductibles and co-pays, this could be normal.

I had awful insurance for my first pregnancy and the ultrasound from a medical imaging facility was over $200. It wasn’t a boutique place either, it was medically necessary and ordered by my midwife. Now I pay 10% of the cost

Seems pricey for sure. I went to a boutique place for my anatomy scan and paid $180 out of pocket. My insurance covers medically necessary US fully but I usually pay up front and get reimbursed.
