How much money do you have saved before baby comes?

I would say it totally depends on your situation. Bare minimum I would say save enough to cover your out-of-pocket for your insurance, as your birth with max that out, as well as enough to cover babies needs (doctors appointments, diapers, wipes, clothes, gas/car maintenance, formula etc) until you plan to go back to work. I personally saved around 20k, but was very lucky to not need it all, and had 20 weeks paid maternity leave. I also had stocked up on diapers/wipes/clothes and planned to breastfeed. I am a huge planner and started stockpiling things years before I became pregnant, and just would buy when it was on sale, as I didn’t want the stress of money to take away from my time as a new mom.

None but that's just because of my particular situation. I live in a country with free healthcare, 3rd baby so have all the stuff and will get 9 months paid maternity leave. We also get universal monthly child allowance once baby's born which we find more than covers everything. I guess you could say we've been saving through extra taxes for these benefits though.
