is it actually possible to gain this much weight ??

🌙

🌙

within a week, ive gained ~2-2.5 lbs.

This is all the while not changing ANYTHING. Still working out, getting steps, and eating what i eat every day. Over this week, ive gone from 110 lbs to nearly 113, and im getting so frustrated i could cry. I’m a shortie, so i am absolutely accurate in what im eating.

My period is less than a week away, but im on the pill, so surely its not bloat?? I just don’t understand how ive managed to do this within (at most) a week and a few days. Does anyone have any insight?? Please help:(

Your weight naturally fluctuates throughout the day even. This sounds pretty unhealthy for you to be worried about 2lbs.

Its the time period of just a bit over a week which is naturally alarming when i have never had a spike this big in my health journey.

I mean this in the nicest way but if gaining 2lbs stresses you out this much I would talk to someone, it’s not healthy to be that stressed over barely any weight gain.

I usually consider changes of 10 pounds to be normal for me. I hear you that this hasn’t happened to you before, and that can make one nervous. I do think though, if it helps, that changes like that would be totally normal for me. And probably for other women too! Especially if you haven’t changed anything, like you said, it’s probably something you won’t be able to identify no matter how much you think about it! I’d recommend maybe giving it a few months and being gracious with your body. So sorry for how tough this is!

i think im being misunderstood. I think anyone would be concerned if over the period of a week and a few days you have fluctuated in your weight an extreme amount from what youre used to. I was concerned about the rapidness and worried it was something to be actively concerned over.

It’s entirely possible to still experience pms symptoms, such as bloating, while on the pill. So, if u haven’t done or eaten anything different & ur period is due soon, then it’s more than likely just bloating.

Yup! Bloating is actually also a normal/common side effect of hormonal birth control, whether ur “period” is close or not. That said, like others have mentioned, regardless of the birth control or ur period, it’s completely normal for our weight to fluctuate within a few pounds weekly, and sometimes even daily… not just from food or bloating/water weight, but also from body waste (poop). As someone who’s been on a weight loss journey for awhile & currently struggling with it, I completely understand ur worry & how it affects ur mood, but trust me, this is all completely normal!!

Really?? I thought it prevented bloating? That would be an incredibly big relief if thats true. I was scared something was seriously wrong to cause such a rapid gain

Are you weighing yourself at the same time each day & the same way (clothes, no clothes, out of the shower, dry etc.)? Do you weigh yourself frequently? The fact you’re worried about going from 110 to 113 seems slightly obsessive

My weight fluctuates within 5 pounds. I wouldn’t be worried about 3 pounds at all

Im more concerned about how rapid its been when ive had zero changes to diet or exercise, only thing thats changed is the closeness of my period

2-3 lbs in a week isn't rapid at all. You can definitely gain that in water weight easy, especially when your hormones fluctuate. Nothing to worry about :)

It’s more than likely just water weight/time of day you’re weighing yourself matters too. You workout so muscle gain plays a role as well.

Weight fluctuates all the time. That is probably simply some extra water weight combined with the fact that you haven’t gone to the bathroom or something. 3lbs is nothing. If you’d gained 10lbs out of nowhere then maybe I’d be worried but less than 5 not so much. I’m 5’1. I usually weigh around 105 in the morning and anywhere from 107-109 by the end of the day. My stomach stays flat the whole time too. It’s just from eating and drinking all day.

My body would sometimes fluctuate that much, or up to 5lb difference, in just a day. I normally weigh 115lbs. In a weeks’ time you have no idea if that 2lb gain is water weight, don’t stress.

The pill also doesn’t in any way prevent bloating - it’s still hormones you’re dealing with, so it may actually increase your bloating/make you gain weight.

It's normal for your body to fluctuate 2-3% due to water weight. I doubt it's fat that you gained. Most likely just water.

Could totally be cycle related.Weighing yourself same time? Morning will be the lightest time

This is true… first thing in the morning before eating/drinking anything & being completely naked will give u the lightest & most accurate weight.
