When are you announcing your pregnancy? And why?

5 weeks currently. First pregnancy. Just wanting to see what others in their first trimester will announce and why they pick the time they do.

So we announced our pregnancy to immediate family immediately when we found out at 5 weeks and announced to everyone else/ publicly after our first ultrasound at 7 weeks 6 days. We personally have no interest in waiting to make sure nothing bad happens because if we were to go through a pregnancy loss we would appreciate support from people rather than having to stay quiet and deal with it all alone. Also we want to celebrate our babies as soon as we know they exist. 
You can choose to announce your pregnancy whenever you feel comfortable and you can choose to wait to announce for any reason you feel necessary.

5 weeks now, not planning on announcing till Christmas (12wks) first scan isn’t until 10wks so want to wait till after that. My first we didn’t announce to anyone till 15wks because I was starting to show. Nothing to worry about as far as we know just private people.

I did at 4 weeks when I found out. I have no history of miscarriages, 3 healthy pregnancies. Could understand if someone had a history of miscarriages to wait.

We lost our first baby so we always announce immediately to celebrate every baby no matter the outcome. We have no desire to suffer through a loss alone. It's much better to have a support system. We announced immediately with our children and on social media the next day, it's only family and very close friends, as our mothers can't keeo news like that to themselves.

I lost my baby boy at 27.5 weeks and to go through something so private, publically (immediate family not included) was the most awful thing I’ve ever had to go through. I’ve since lost two others one miscarriage and one ectopic. I’m currently pregnant with another boy 26 weeks today and I’ve only announced to family members, one friend and my boss. We’ve literally Just started telling people mostly because I’m showing. But it’s totally up to you and your comfort level!

We told our close family pretty much right away. Then we waited until after our first ultrasound to post on social media and all that. Just so we were sure the baby was in there and healthy

I announced to my immediate family at 8 weeks and my inlaws at just over 11 weeks. I'll be 12 weeks this Friday. Its whenever you are comfortable.

I announced to close family and friends pretty much the day I found out. For me, I liked having the support system. I did lose a pregnancy also. Having my support system grieve with me helped. I wouldn’t want to do that alone and out all that emotional pressure on my husband.
