I had a sweep done a week ago and it was definitely painful but my periods have felt worse. I had some bloody discharge the same day and spotting for only an hour or so
Had my body show a couple of days later with contractions later on but they stopped. Sitting here at 39 wks like please just come out already 🥲🥲🥲

Answer

It essentially detaches your water sac from sitting on top of your cervix. If you google it you can find a picture with better explanation! For some it induces labor if your body is ready and for some it doesn’t do anything.
