CT Scan

Hi everyone just looking for feedback! I’m 19 weeks pregnant and I had to get a chest CT today. They encouraged me to do it because I was at risk for a blood clot in my lung and they were very concerned. They assured me that the risks associated were minimal but I wanted to see if anyone else had a CT scan and if the risks were discussed with them?

I had a lung scan and lung x ray at 33 weeks pregnant to rule out a pulmonary embolism as well. From how they explained it to me when I had it done, a lung scan doesn’t have as much radiation as a CT scan, but the tech had to inject me with 3 doses as he kept missing my vein…all in all, they say risk of the clot is higher than harm to baby, and I can say I have a healthy little six week old in my arms right now! I know it isn’t the exact same situation, but I hope that gives you some peace of mind!

Nothing showed on mine, I totally understand wanting to weigh your options. When I had it done the doctor told me he preferred I have it done, but I was anxious about it too. I hope everything goes well for you and that everything is fine! It’s so hard to know what to do! ❤️

Did you end up having anything show up on the scan? I have been having chest pain and shortness of breath and I am 33 weeks pregnant. My vitals are normal but the pain is so bad.. trying to weigh benefits vs risks :/

I had 1 dome on my lungs at 10 weeks and it turned out that I had 2 clots in my lungs. I'm now 30 weeks and I get frequent ultrasounds and my specialist says my babygirl looks great.
