Hi Ladies,

I had the craziest first appointment ever Tuesday! The doctor couldn’t find the heartbeat on the Doppler so I was given an ultrasound, which baby was doing great and moving all around 🙏🏻

Then I was told I had to do the 24 hour urine sample because I had preeclampsia in my first pregnancy, I’m only 11 weeks as of yesterday. I also had all kinds of routine blood work. But the 24 urine was just routine.

Fast forward to today and my 24 hour urine test came back and I failed miserably!!! The cut off for protein is 150 and I was 480!!! I also filled the entire jug with urine.

Now a few hours later and I get my blood test back and it said I tested Reactive for SYPHILIS!! I do not have this disease so I know it’s a false positive, but I don’t know why. I read pregnancy can cause it, being sick, or having recent vaccines. All apply to me, I have a nasty cold and just got my flu vaccine.

Also, my nurse never told me that I had to refrigerate the 24 hour urine sample so I’m thinking that me leaving it out on my bathroom counter the whole 24 hours threw off my results! My urine at the doctors office during my appointment showed NO PROTEIN at all and the rest of my blood work came back perfect (kidneys, liver, all normal), so how could I have all this protein in my urine if I had none during my appointment? I’m thinking not refrigerating threw off results.

Anxiously waiting for my doctor to return to work tomorrow to see what the heck is going on!!😬
