My husband signed a lease with the family of the boy who used to bully our son

My son used to go to school with a bully. He hated this boy because this boy was horrible to him for no reason all through out 3rd and 4th grade. My son had a My Chemical Romance shirt that his sister gave him for his 10th birthday. It used to belong to her but this bully stole it from him and we all went to the office but never got the shirt back and I think that's what pissed my son off more than anything this boy did to him. Me and my husband own an apartment complex. My husband told me a few weeks ago that I wouldn't believe who came in the office and it was that boy and his parents. My son is 16 now so I'm assuming that boy is around the same age but that boy moved after the 4th grade year and thank God for my son's sake. But my son heard this and pretty much begged my husband not to rent to them because he made his life hell and I did agree but my husband said it was almost 6 years ago and people change. My son was extremely pissed at my husband for signing that lease because now he pretty much lives in the same apartment complex as that boy. He has been being pouty about it all week but hasn't seen that boy at his school yet. Well today after my son got home from school someone knocked on our door and my husband said "It's Kyle". Kyle is the boy who relentlessly bullied our son. But he asked to speak to him and my son said "I'm gonna give him that punch in the face he's been deserving". And I told him he isn't hitting anyone. I went with him to the door and it's always weird to see people you had seen when they were much younger, much older. My son just stared at him and didn't say anything and Kyle said hi to me and asked if we remembered him and my son said "Yeah I sure do". He was just telling us he moved back here and lives in the same apartments and wanted to say hi since he starts school at my son's school Monday. Then he said "Btw wanted to give you this". And handed my son something and it was the fucking MCR shirt his sister gave him! I said thank you to Kyle and my son is blushing like a damn tomato 😂. My son stuttered and said thx and Kyle said "I didn't get a chance to wash it but I wanted to return it. Looks better on you anyway". And that made him turned an even darker shade of red. Then Kyle left. My husband was joking and poking fun at the interaction and my son told him to shut it and just because Kyle's hot now and gave him his shirt back doesn't mean they're best friends but if that taught me anything. People do change. Including bullies. My son doesn't have many friends so who knows maybe he will find a friend and Kyle!

@Missy Since this is anonymous and I'm not given much detail I'll feel okay with saying this but if we really wanted to we could have just denied them because of their rent history. My husband is a softy and does try to give people with really poor rental history chances but I have put my foot down at times but if we really wanted to we could have legally.
