Trying to conceive .Ready To Give up 😔

I’m so confused I did everything right last month and my period came 🤦🏾‍♀️ I want to give up what could be the cause of this ? I have a appointment Friday to see what’s going on because I have 3 kids but 2 was a miscarriage I had a miscarriage the beginning of this year & it’s been taking me forever plus I’ve been using ovulating test strips .!
