Something/Someone in my son’s room at night???
LONG POST WARNING! (also, I didn’t know what group to add this to)
My little one is 14 months old and on Monday night (Halloween) I was in his room with him rocking him in the rocker for a little bit before bed. All the lights were off, he was super tired from trick-or-treating and he was just about sleep.. all of a sudden he shot straight up, turned his head, and looked in the corner of the room that the door is in and waved. The door was completely shut and no one else was in the room. He’s done this a few times before, and it’s always to the same corner in his room and he only does this is his room. It was odd because he’s never been almost asleep and done it. That corner of the room is clear, nothing is over there. My boyfriend says he’s never seen him do this, but i’ve seen him wave to the same corner of the room on multiple occasions at all different times of the day and I always jokingly say “who are you waving to, baby?” My son’s room used to be my boyfriends childhood room and nothing ever happened like that with him. Skip to the next night, everything was good and everyone slept fine and then the morning came. Little one woke up screaming versus the cry he normally does. S.O. went to get him and after going to little one’s room, he comes back and looks at me and asks “Is there a reason his door is wide open and pushed up against the wall?…” when normally the door is closed all the way where it couldn’t just “open”. Our cat was out that night roaming, but he doesn’t know how to open any doors, they’re round and slippery knobs. And my son can’t crawl out of his crib so it wasn’t him. S.O. didn’t open the door and neither did I, and we don’t sleepwalk either. We live with his parents so I asked if they opened his door/went in there that night and maybe left it cracked, and then the cat maybe went in. They both say no. What I hate about this is that the door opening with no one’s help has happened before, except I went in there to get little one that morning and the door was wide open again and his lamp was on. Again, he sleeps with all the lights off. The lamp in his room is “Hey Google” enabled, but we’ve never had the lamp randomly turn on, if anything we have to repeat ourselves two and three times for it to work. You have to push the piece on one side of the lamp through to the other side if you do it yourself, so I don’t know how that happened. We have however had his music start randomly playing, we play it through the same google pod we use to turn the lamp on and his tv, but the tv has not turned on by itself.. yet. He listens to Chris Stapleton every night when he sleeps because that’s the only thing that keeps him asleep. But the song “Broken Haloes” will always randomly start playing at all times of the day and no one in the house will purposefully play it. I just feel lost.. I believe in the paranormal and am a firm believer in God and his Angels, but I also have had my fair share of watching horror movies and it freaks me out a little now because it’s becoming more frequent. Is there anything I can do? I don’t want to overlook something that could be harmful to my child or my family, but I don’t want to overreact if it is nothing but a glitch in the products we use or something/some good spirit(s) visiting. I’ve always heard kids can see things us adults cannot, but I’ve never heard of anyones child personally doing it that I know. I’ve seen a lot of things as a child, people I’ve seen pass during my childhood and people I have no idea who they are, and still do see at times and feel like i’m losing my mind at this point. I’m sorry i’m rambling, i just need advice from anyone for this one concerned mama! If you took the time to read this and/or comment, thank you! 🤍
