Am I a terrible person?

My cousin and her bf broke up maybe a month ago. She would always complain and call me crying because of how he treated her. She knows how long I’ve been ttc and she just found out that her one night stand with him maybe 2 weeks ago landed her pregnant. She asked if I was happy about it I mean like yeah but it’s hurts. Seeing everyone around me conceiving and constantly thinking that there’s something wrong with me.

You’re not a terrible person. My husband and his uncle are 11 years apart, the uncle’s girlfriend is 8 years younger so she’s close to my husband & myself in age. She just announced she’s pregnant and did a sneak peak and they’re having a girl. I haven’t voiced that I’m ttc to anyone because I don’t want the added stress but everyone is so excited and happy for her, rightfully so but it’s hard seeing her be pregnant when they didn’t want any kids and hearing all the baby talk and everyone so excited. I wish it was me but I’m happy for her still.

Nope, totally fair enough. When we were trying for 12 months + for our daughter, my ‘friend’ rang me in tears saying she thinks she might be pregnant so she was on her way to my house to take a test, it was the biggest positive I’ve ever seen, apparently they only had sex once that month, and she didn’t want to keep the baby. It was like a knife to my heart. Trying for a baby is such a mentally exhausting journey, and people don’t quite understand the pain of it under they experience it themselves. I hope your not to upset 😔💓

You are defiantly NOT a terrible person. I completely understand why your upset. It’s great she trusted you to tell you so soon, but with their history and asking for your approval if your happy for them is kinda insensitive. Some people need to be careful how they word things, or how they word things, especially with someone that’s been trying for what feels like forever and a day.
