First of all I got to say I’ve never experienced such empowerment! Woman are superheroes, my due date was November 5th but ended up having him the next morning November 6th, I started the day as usual just relaxing and waiting for baby to make his arrival made food and cleaned up even went for a walk and then took a nap from 7pm to 10pm, I was still feeling pretty good till it hit about 1am and I started have contractions that were not painful I honestly thought it was Braxton hicks so I took a Tylenol and a bath and took a gravol to help me sleep at about 4am got my husband to call the midwife as the contractions were consistent and close together. She told us to go to the hospital to be assessed and we were all fully certain that it was false labour and that we would be sent home, well turns out I was in active labour for 4 hours and didn’t even know it because I was 5 centimetres and they sent me to a room right away after that it was all hitting me at once that I was going to have a baby the transition was painful but bearable, my birth plan was to go unmedicated for as long as I could and let me tell you I went without any drugs the whole way through the nurses were surprised as to how quiet I was, especially it being my first baby I honestly was so close to giving up and getting the epidural but I toughed it out and at 7:30am I started pushing and he made his arrival at 8:46am. I’m in pain and I’m extremely exhausted but it was such an empowering time for me and really showed me how strong we are and how capable we are, I naturally birthed a healthy 9 pound 14 ounce baby boy, no one can put this momma down🙂
