The meaning of work

Rose/33YO/ TTC Since Dec.`19

I'm pregnant and doing things that are more flexible than a standard 9-5 job to make money so that once the baby arrives I can take care of him myself while still making money. These are tasks I can bring him along to so I'll be saving around $400 a week on daycare. So I'll be cleaning houses, deliver groceries, do peoples laundry and looking into babysitting too. I also do everything at home such as cooking, cleaning, yard care and whatever else is needed for the week. But since I'm not planning a regular 9:00 to 5:00 job I'm getting a lot of comments from family and friends saying that they know other people who are further along in pregnancy than me who are still working at a regular job and that I should still be working. I just wonder why the things I'm going to be doing while raising my child are not considered work. My husband works a regular job but when he was off for 4 years I was still working and all the same people were fine with him being home all the time. There is working for money in order to pay bills which is of course needed, but there's also many other forms of work why is some of it considered work and some of it is not.
