Today I started experiencing lower abdominal/ pelvic pain but instead of a tightening feeling it feels more like period cramps and it’s very uncomfortable

I’ve had this feeling on and off for the past 2 days. I was looking into Braxton hicks and I thinks that’s what it may be. But like you said it feels like light period cramps, more of a uncomfortable, achy feeling

I’m actually currently at labor and delivery right now for excessive contractions. I’m 35w4d, and yesterday I was having them all day since 10:30 am and it hasn’t stopped. They are mainly just the Braxton hicks, but I still felt I needed to be checked out. So if you have a gut feeling, it wouldn’t hurt to go get it checked!

Yes. Been having period like cramps the whole pregnancy. They always say it’s normal.

For my last pregnancy that was the start of early labor for me, so just pay attention to it. I had that for about 24 hours and then my water broke. I didn't start to feel what I considered real trackable "contractions" until I was about 6 cm dilated. I was already at the hospital at that point however because I went in when my water broke to be checked and they went ahead and admitted me. When they hooked me up I could see that the cramping was light contractions.

If it feels like period cramps I would get checked. Could be early stages of labour. How far along are you?

Not me yet but my midwife said to me on Fri labour starting can feel like bad period cramps x
