Do you or did you allow your child to sleep over at someone else's house?

Do you allow your children to go to sleepovers? What makes you feel comfortable enough to allow them to go?
What makes you feel uncomfortable to not allow them to go?
Any other comments about this subject you'd like to add?

Nope. Not allowed in our household. I worked in social advices for many many years and I do not think that the pros of a sleepover outweigh the potential cons. Not a risk I’m willing to take with my child’s well being.

Absolutely! Having & attending sleepovers are a staple of childhood. I had so many fun times during sleepovers as a kid/teen (I occasionally still have sleepovers/girls nights at my bestie’s house as a grown adult 🤷🏽‍♀️😂). And, I would never take that experience away from my child because of potential “what ifs”. Nor, do I believe in projecting our fears of the “what ifs” onto the kids. Bad things can happen all around us, no matter where we are or what precautions we take, so I personally don’t think it’s “right” or fair to basically live in fear & take something as common & fun as sleepovers away from kids. And, I truly feel bad for the kids whose parents don’t allow it.

No. 
Though I very much enjoyed sleepovers growing up, going to a friend's houses and having them at my house we do not feel comfortable at all letting our child stay with anyone and we don't feel comfortable being responsible for other people's children. 
Though most of the homes I stayed in were safe for the most part there were a few houses that I went to that I know if my parents would have been there to see what was going on I don't believe they would have let me continue staying. Most of the time at sleepovers even when I was little we were not supervised and there were older brothers and teenagers around and anything could have happened. I feel like you never truly know the nature of someone even if you think you're friends and family. Anybody could abuse your child in any way when you're not there and you could never know it.
I grew up in a time most parents didn't question anything at all but unfortunately the world isn't the same.  I would rather know without a doubt my child is safe in my sight at all times than allow her to experience a sleepover. 
I think when my child is to an age where she has friends and they want to hang out we will allow them to have late night hangouts in our living room to where we can be supervising their time together but before bedtime everyone will need to go home.

I honestly don’t understand why so many people on this app are so against sleepovers. It seems like an illogical overreaction. ￼🤷‍♀️￼

I loved sleeping at friends houses as a kid/teen. My parents only allowed me to if they knew the family I was staying with. Like knew the parents and trusted them. My sister didn’t like to, so she usually had her friends stay at her house. 
Now as a mom I am up in the air about it. He is only 17 months right now and there is only a few friends outside of family I trust to care for him. I would have to know the family and trust them and even then I’m not sure how I feel about it. I have no problem having kids stay at my house, I am a career nanny if 15 years and before having my son I’ve had a few families I became super close with and the kids have stayed at my house overnight or for a weekend. 
It’s just such a crazy world these days.
