First period after giving birth

Hi all

So my daughter is 8 months old and I hadn't had a period yet, I think I'm possibly getting it, it's been brown when I wipe for 3 days now, is this normal being brown for this long, should it be pink/ red or is it because it's been a while please shed a bit more light for me
