So, my husband (24) and I (23) haven’t been married long (a little over a year), and we at first agreed to wait for children until after he got out of the military (in 2024.) All of our friends (those who do and don’t have children) and family (both sides) all want us to have a baby so bad. My husband and I always joke about it or talk about what we’d do/how we’d parent all the time, which is what led into last nights conversation. He would tell me about when his friends would ask him (during work) but the longer it went the more convinced to have one he sounded when he told me. So after making a joke about getting pregnant, we ended up having a serious conversation about it as we both want kids (plural) we just didn’t want to have one too early as before we were living in my moms shed until we finally got a home. Now that we have a home, decent jobs, a car, insurance, etc, we don’t really have anything in the way of that dream. Plus we’ll have a home in Cali when he gets out (where he is from and has family.) So it was decided that we would try but not try (as in if it happens it happens), but I’m honestly so excited. Plus how excited all our friends and family would be, as they definitely wouldn’t expect it with how we’ve been telling them that we were waiting or it wasn’t happening for another 2 years at least. We also did agree to wait on telling everyone until after 1st trimester to be on the safe side, but I needed some outlet to share my excitement so I’m sharing it here!!! We do have ovulation and pregnancy tests just to see (seems a lot more like trying trying lol) just to keep track of things and so that we know exactly when it happens.
