Seven month old feeding issues
We've started her on solids and purees, but it isn't a constant, scheduled thing yet.
But she's formula fed and over the past couple weeks, she's become very finicky with how much she eats. She rarely finishes a 4 oz (4.5 after water and formula) bottle. I read that at this age she should be taking a 6-8 oz bottle like 6 times a day? Yeah, I wish. This little girl eats 2-3 oz every 2-3 hours. The only times she takes a full bottle (sometimes) is when she wakes in the night to feed. She used to wake up once, maybe twice during the night. Now it's usually 2-3 times.
How do I get her to eat more with more time in between feedings? My mom said to get her on a schedule and stop on demand feeding, but I have no idea how to do that without her screaming her head off because she wants a whole two ounces. It's like she just wants snacks throughout the day.
I brought it up to her doctor and he didn't seem concerned because she's gaining weight and physically and mentally developing properly. But it's just so aggravating feeding her so often, when I thought by this point she'd be eating more but less often. It's like she's gone back to a newborn schedule! She previously ate around 5 ounces every 4 hours.
I hate only making 2 oz bottles because I want her to eat more, but when I make a 4 oz bottle and she only eats half, then I'm wasting formula. 😞
Please help. 😩
Edited to say: She only takes room temperature bottles. She won't take them warm or cold.
