We just got back our NIPT results and let me say, my heart is pounding. We have a beautiful 2 year old boy and this one is our rainbow baby! After 2 previous miscarriages we are so excited to be past the 12 week mark!

Okay so a little background…. In our family/extended family there are A LOT of boys. My husband is the oldest of 5 boys, his dad is the middle of 3 boys, his grandfather only has 1 sister and the rest are boys, etc. (you get the picture) So I’ve consigned myself to thinking that I’ll only ever be a boy mom, which is great too! But, I also want a little girl at some point.

My husband and father both REALLY REALLY REALLY want this baby to be a girl. I kind of do but am way too scared when I imagine raising a girl so I kind of don’t. My husband and I agreed that we would find out the sex of each baby until we had one of each and then it would be a surprise. I could care less about the sex of this baby because I’m just so happy to have a healthy baby right now. However, I agreed so I must find out. The rest of our family wants to know but won’t make any guesses (probably because of the “boy curse” lol).

So my dilemma now is do I open the results and find out?! If I do, and it’s a girl, should I keep it a secret until the gender reveal to get my husband’s reaction on video? Or should I just tell him? Any guesses? With my son, I knew without a doubt I was having a boy. I could just sense it. With this baby, ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I’ve had no inklings at all!
