Should I be a SAHM???

Question

Has anyone left a decent job that they liked and paid pretty well to stay home with their babies?? How do you like being a SAHM? Do you regret it? I’ve always wanted to be a sahm but feel stuck since I have a good job. It’s hard to make that final decision and put in my notice at work… fortunately, we can live off my husbands income but it will be tight. 
I have a 15 month and a baby on the way. We are sick all the time right now because of her current childcare and I am over it. Plus I will have to quit when baby #2 is born in June. Part of me wants to do it now but I’m just afraid to make that decision.

I never left a decent job to be a sahm, I left a decent job to be with my husband and then i just never got a job again. But as a sahm now, I can say I think it's 100% worth it. Don't get me wrong it is definitely hard, I've lost me sense of identity a time of two, I've struggled knowing I'm not helping financially, I've been burnt out beyond all burn, and I have wanted to throw in the towel so many times. But with the negative, comes the many positives. My kids are hardly ever sick, even with my oldest in pre-k, and now in kindergarten we luckily still never get sick. I get to go to all the school activities my son may have, I've been able to join the pto and volunteer so much of time which makes it so much fun and I love being involved in my child's school. I've got to bond with them so much from all this time I've spent with them. We've made so fun memories and still do so. I get watch them grow, I get to teach them, I get do all the things with them besides someone else doing it for me. 
My husband is so supportive over me being a sahm, and would rather I do this anyways. Yes money can be tight at times be we have always manged to pull through. He gives me breaks when I need them, he helps me through the mental load I sometimes feel. And without a good support system I don't think I'd be able to handle it as well. 
On top of all this, I'm glad I'm not working my butt off just to pay someone to watch my kids because where I live, even for a center I wouldn't trust I'd be paying high dollar! More than our mortgage, and I just find it so insane.

For me I could never be a sahm. I though that was something I always wanted to do but after a year off at home with baby I was really ready to get back to work. I work now 4 days and 2 year old goes to daycare 3 days which she absolutely loves. I’m thankful for the balance of work and family I have right now :)

I’m in the minority but I don’t like being a stay at home mom. 
Don’t get me wrong, I love my kid. I love getting to spend time with him and I love watching him grow up, but being a stay-at-home mom has greatly increased my postpartum depression. I miss my coworkers, I miss the satisfaction I got from my job. Due to a disability that arose during my pregnancy, I am unable to go back to my previous career but I am finishing up my degree so that I can go back after baby #2 is a little bit older. 
Theoretically, I would love to be able to stay home until my kids are old enough for school just because I don’t want them to go to daycare but realistically, I take a lot of value in my professional work and my work provides value into my life. We’ll see how I feel once I rejoin the workforce, but I’m hoping that spending some time away from my kids will make me more present when I am with them

Could you go part time ?
I could never be a sahm by choice because same as you: i like what I do and I have a nice salary (now)
I would not lile to drop my level of lifestyle ( not like is glamorous) 
And I’d hate to ask for money or feel like i’m spending his money. I know we r family but it feels good to be independent.
Money is a sensitive topic for me so no willingly i would never give up my financial independence

I needed my job after I had my first, financially we really couldn’t afford me leaving my job after maternity pay was over. But you know what? If you want it, you can make it work! I didn’t work for 6 years after I quit my job. Even though I didn’t get paid as much as I should’ve but being with my baby meant more to me than any amount of money to stay. It was hard at first getting adjusted to not working, socially and emotionally. But tbh I would do it all over again. I never missed a beat with either of my girls and we always made it work. Struggled here and there, but at the end of the day we made it work! Being a SAHM is hard but just so awarding! If you can do it, I highly suggest it imo.
