Can iron supplements cause weight gain/ increased appetite?

Just asking because I’ve been eating non stop ever since taking iron supplements for my Severe anemia (65mg) I’ve also been having constant diarrhea .. which sucks

I mean, correcting anaemia usually stops you from the sleepy , exhausted, shitty feeling so maybe it's given you a boost of energy and you're eating more.

Iron supplements actually tend to cause constipation so that might not be related. You might just be extra hungry because of other things as well. I am chronically on iron supplements for my severe anemia (I have to take three times the dose on the container just to maintain my iron levels) and I don't eat excessively unless I'm in a certain part of my cycle.

They can definitely constipate you, you can carry anywhere from 5 to 10 pounds of waste in your system daily. Increase your protein, whether that is plant-based or animal-based, I am also anemic, I have thalassemia, I just take better care of myself, high protein, high-fiber, low salt, low sugar, natural sugars from fruits and vegetables, I walk for exercise, and my iron levels have gotten much better in my system when I do bloodwork.
