Is your 6-7 month old sitting by themselves? (Unassisted)

My son will be 7 months in 5 days. He doesn’t sit unassisted yet. I try a little everyday but he always ends up toppling over. Seems like he’s getting better at it though.

Don’t worry!! My first was over 7 months, and my second is actually crawling before sitting! He’s almost there 😂 we practice, but he doesn’t want to sit still! Just practice! It’s so true when they say that babies go at their own pace ❤️🥹

My daughter needed very little support for weeks and then like another commenter said, it was literally overnight and now she needs no support and in fact can now go from crawling to a sitting position and can pull herself up to standing! These all seemed to happen very quickly! She is 7.5 months. She was able to sit unassisted at around 6.5 months.

Mine is the same she’s 7 months 4 days 
She can sit for 3-5 minutes then she jus topples 
So we are practicing everyday

Mine went from needing a little support to being able to sit for prolonged periods without support almost overnight, so I wouldn't worry. Just let them practice sat on the floor with cushions around them to catch them when they topple and they'll get there in no time.
