Do you ever maybe sometimes miss life before kids?
I love love love my kids and would not trade them for the world, but I can’t help but sometimes miss life before them. Not everything, but little things from time to time.
I miss working. I loved my job but had to leave because it just didn’t pay enough for two kids in daycare. Plus they were not really flexible at all.
I miss just going and getting my nails done. I still do find time to get them, but only once every 6 weeks or so, so my nails look like shit for the most part. I wonder why I even bother lol.
I miss going to the gym. I used to love working out. I actually did go to the gym over the summer because my mom is a teacher so she was off and would watch the kids for me which was great so I could work out. But she’s back at work so I don’t go anymore.
My one kid goes to bed early and wakes up early. My second gives me a hard time for bedtime every night and I miss just going to bed lol
I miss just running quick errands. I feel like things that used to take a half hour take like over an hour now lol
I miss my alone time so so so so so so so much. Just being by myself for a little bit. Sometimes I end up staying up late by myself just to get some alone time but then regret it in the morning because my oldest is up so early lol
I don’t have much help, my husband doesn’t want to watch the kids much and sometimes I wonder if that’s why I miss my old life, I am kind of resentful that all the child care fell on me and my life changed so much while his really didn’t at all. He still goes out and sees his friends once a week, he still goes to the gym all the time, and if he is tired after work he just goes and relaxes while I can’t bc I have to take care of the kids make dinner feed kids clean up. He works tho and I don’t so o guess that’s the difference. My kids are 2 and 3 so I’ll be working again soon once they go to school
Does anyone else feel this way ever? I really do love my kids so much but I definitely can’t help but occasionally miss life before.
