Living situation
When I want something, I move with a great sense of urgency. My fiancé makes it seem like it’s a bad thing. He’d rather move super slow, like he’s unmotivated. We can’t afford to live in the city, we are living with our parents. I NEED my own space. If we can’t afford to live here on our own, the most rational thing to do is move to an area we can afford.. right? So I’ve been looking for small towns within our state that are much cheaper. We’re renting a room with our parents for $1,000 a month. I found a small town in our state where $1,000 a month gets you a lease for a 3 bedroom HOUSE.. it’s a no- brainer to me. But he takes a ton of convincing and even then he never makes a decision (which is basically a decision within itself- he’s choosing to stay). It’s irritating because what else does he expect us to do? His sister has a house and he mentioned how they have a full basement and garage that can be turned into studio apartments and rented out… (his sister never showed any interest in doing this).. insinuating that we could live there. He wants to live under his family and I’m not ok with that. Am I being rational? We both have jobs that are transferable anywhere so that also works in our favor but I don’t even want to show him the houses I found because I already know what he’ll say 😒
I have asked him why and he said because he’s comfortable here in this area, under his mama, with his friends. He doesn’t want to leave that behind. But he also wants to marry me and have babies, well absolutely not. Somethings gotta give.
