Does anyone know if you can put an extra seat (passenger seat) in a 2016 Honda Civic LX?

I’m planning on picking up a passenger seat from LA to SD and I didn’t know if it’s possible.

Would I have to removed the passenger seat prior to leaving my house or will I be able to place in the additional seat in the car (ie. Placing it on top of the other passenger seat) or perhaps in the trunk with the back seats folded down?

I want to be prepared… I’m not a car person sooo I need to know if my car will have enough space. The reason why I’m asking here is because the passenger seat I’ll be picking up is for my boyfriend. It will be his Christmas present and does not know I will be going that far so it.

And I don’t have a truck, I just have a 4-door Sedan.

I’m trying to avoid paying $150 to have it shipped to me.
