Alright Mama's, I need some desperate advice or just encouragement for those that have gone through what I'm going through. My daughter is two days old, well now 3 and has the worst latch ever. I'm fairly certain she has a lip tie or a tongue...or both. Nursing is so painful and she has such a tiny mouth, which means a shallow latch. My nipples come out either flat or looking like lipstick top. So... something is up. That said... tonight we gave her a bottle which I pumped. Please tell me there is hope that we can continue to breastfeed. I'm going to go grab nipple shields tomorrow and have a virtual consult with a LC on Monday. I just need some encouragement or someone else who's been in my shoes and it turned out alright, because I feel like such a failure. I want to nurse so badly and I didn't with my son, but pumped for 9 months.
