When did your baby start sleeping on their stomach? Putting themselves in that position

I think both my kids started rolling onto their stomachs at 4 or 5 months. I just left them since I was told if they could roll onto their belly, they could roll off, if need be.

At 4 months our daughter discovered stomach sleeping and now it’s the only way she sleeps. Or she scrunches up feet under her stomach and her butt in the air.

If put on back and they get themselves there on their own, leave them. This also comes with ensuring safe sleep space with a firm mattress and no blankets. Pillows, etc.

My daughter started rolling when she was only a few weeks old. She could roll onto her stomach but she couldn’t roll back. She was still in her bassinet so that prevented a lot of the rolling while was was asleep Once she was about 3-4 months and could roll both ways we let her sleep on her stomach regularly.

I always put my son on his back first but if he flips to his stomach, I leave him like that. He started rolling at 4.5 months and now he’s 8.5 months.
