What do I do ?

Moms, what do you do when your toddler has one of those crazy episode where they’re super hyper and won’t listen to anything you say? My son is 2 and he has been very active but tonight he was like an active tornado😫😫. He wouldn’t stay still for my husband to put on his pajamas, thinks everything is funny , running around his room laughing , climbing on things, I mean he was just wild. I raised my voice and he just think it’s funny.

I usually turn things we need to get done into a game of some sort. Like how fast can we get your pajamas on, I’ll count! Or can we do it before dad comes back? Or oh man you’re too silly right now go run your silly out and touch the front door! Now run back to me! Let’s get your pajama shirt on fast and then go run again! Ok now let’s do your pants quick! Works well for us especially for our daughter. My son is almost two and more stubborn, sometimes I have to put him in a bear hug and calmly tell him “it’s time to get pajamas on so I need you to settle down” or with changing his diaper or whatever. Then I hold him still and tell him to let me know when he’s ready to settle down, he usually gets really upset for a minute then says he’s ready. If he still doesn’t cooperate I put him back into a bear hug and do it again. He would rather get pajamas on and be free than be stuck in my lap

First, I would think about what the child had to eat or drink in the time before this started. Did he have sweets or juice? Also, how much physical activity did he have during the day? If he’s not getting enough physical activity, he will try to get the energy out right before bed. 
At a time when he is calm, explain to him about the importance of cooperation and how to be a good cooperator. Tell him exactly what he needs to do to. He has to be a good listener, follow the rules, no running, or jumping, behaving nicely, ￼etc.…  Explain to him that from now on the rules are that at bedtime he is to cooperate. If he can cooperate, then he will get a reward, like a sticker or stamp or something else you know he likes. And if he does cooperate, make sure to point out how you really liked how he cooperated tonight. Lots of praise for that. But if he doesn’t cooperate, he will be in timeout for two minutes. You can literally just leave him in his room for two minutes to let him calm down on his own a bit. Then you can go back in, get down on his level and say you were in timeout because you were not cooperating at bedtime. You know the rules. Now it’s time to cooperate. ￼￼Then hugs and kisses. You may need to repeat that process quite a few times before he starts to get it. But if you stay consistent, he will begin to understand. ￼
