Soooo I need some advice…
Hi all, I’m currently 9 weeks pregnant with my second baby. My first son was born 27+6 via emergency c-section due to preeclampsia.
This is what need some opinions on, as in, what would you do?…
My general OB is seeing me right now but he has given me the option to be transferred back to my maternal fetal medicine doc for this pregnancy. I can be transferred over next week, wait until I start having mild preeclampsia symptoms, or be transferred closer to my due date for my delivery. Or not go at all, if all goes well. He said it’s entirely my choice when and if I want to be transferred over to maternal fetal medicine.
My last pregnancy, I had no physical symptoms of preeclampsia and was transferred to a high risk doc for a second opinion as there was significantly high levels of protein in my urine and my blood pressure was rising very slowly (over the course of 10 weeks). I delivered 24 hours after my very first appt with the high risk doc.
If you were in my shoes, when would you transfer over to the high risk doc? Would you wait it out and see what happens or do your whole pregnancy with them?
(For additional info, prophylactically I’m taking 81 mg aspirin daily, but nothing else as of now. BP was 118/64 this morning)
