Just had my 6 week checkup yesterday and everything is great and I’m cleared for sex again. I pretty much swore off birth control a year into my marriage because i tried 3 different pills and hated the way it made me feel and killed my sex drive. I tried the copper IUD and it was a horrible experience. We did the NFPM and avoided pregnancy for 5 years just by doing that…whether it was just luck or not, we didn’t even use condoms. I got pregnant the first time we stopped being careful and wanted to start trying (didn’t expect to be one and done😅) but my doctor asked what I wanted to do and he suggested the regular IUD and not the copper (new doctor from my origional iud and he said he tries to tell people NOT to go that route because of side effects) or condoms because i expressed my dislike for the pill. I’m leaning towards the iud but i wanted to hear others experiences with it. And let me just add, i love my doctor and he never pushes anything, it was just his suggestion for the iud. I’m not sure if I just want to stick to cycle tracking like before and adding condoms. The only reason we never used condoms is because we really weren’t against getting pregnant, so if it happened it just happened. But now with the baby, we obviously want to wait a bit before #2 comes along.
