I was due December 17th with my fifth surprise gender babe and HE decided he wanted to come early.

Had my bloody show and some small contractions at 4am. Contractions really started around 6am about every 7-8 mins apart .. we called my dad to come watch the other four kids and checked into hospital at 9am. I was only 3cm but 80% effaced.

Labored in triage til 1230 and rechecked and I was only 4cm but we got transferred to a birthing suite because i was definitely in labor and it is my fifth.

From there, things went crazy. Contractions every 3 minutes and went from 4-7cm in an hour and it was now 130.

I start dripping blood and my bag was bulging so midwife popped it and baby heartrate started dropping with each contraction. After she popped my water I went from 7-10cm in 20 minutes and started pushing at 150. I’ll spare all the details but scary part was he was sunny side up and cord around neck twice with his arm stuck at face.. that may have been a blessing keeping it away from neck tho. He came out screaming and a tiny little thing at 4lbs15oz at 2:06pm.

He’s nursing like a champ and we’re recovering the best we can. So thankful to be done and proud of myself for going med free again even tho it was my hardest labor to date.
