Pregnant?

So I’ve been nauseous everyday for a week and thrown up twice this week. I started my period today but I’ve never had this before. Is there a chance I am pregnant even tho I’m on my period? I’ve heard stories that women can still have their period and be pregnant

My mom said she had a "period" at the beginning of each of her four pregnancies. I know it isn't technically a period but for some people bleeding can occur

You cannot have a period while pregnant. I absolutely hate when people say you can… you cannot. A period is the shedding of the uterine lining and if that occurs while pregnant it will result in a miscarriage. Bleeding can occur in pregnancy but the types of bleeding are bleeding from ectopic pregnancy, chemical pregnancy, subchorionic hematoma, placental issues if further along in the pregnancy, cervical irritation, etc.
If you’re having symptoms related to a potential pregnancy then you’d have enough HCG to turn a test positive. You can test but if you’re bleeding then this was likely just PMS symptoms if all tests have been negative leading up to this. If you haven’t tested yet it could’ve been a chemical pregnancy, but you really can’t determine that without a positive pregnancy test.
