Handicapped placard while pregnant?

Okay this might be controversial…. But is it a thing for pregnant women to get to park in handicapped spots? I’m 26 weeks and 3 days pregnant and have been in so much pain lately, it would be nice if I didn’t have to park in the back of the parking lot when I need to run in the store for a couple things😭
Okay edited to add: this is extreme pain I’m talking about. Like can barely roll over in bed without hurting… I’m 26, 117lbs, very active at work, and usually have a high pain tolerance, but this is something I’ve never personally experienced before. It’s all in my left hip/muscle connected to my pubic bone, the joint pops super loud and then I can’t lift/bend/move that leg at all for the rest of the day. I asked my OBGYN and he said it’s just normal pregnancy stuff and I just have to deal with it (would love to know if anyone else has experienced this, but I’m switching doctors anyway). I’ve heard one person say they got a handicapped placard while pregnant, so that’s why I asked. Thank you to everyone but the person who was rude about it😊

No. Some places have spots up front for expecting mothers, however.

Most pregnant women do not have any issues that would be considered disabling for normal daily activities. If you are truly having a hard time being mobile, talk with you doctor to see if temporary accommodations can be made

Nope. Therr are store in my area that have parking up front for elderly and pregnant women without handicap tags but if the pain us so bad as to not be able to do it see your ob and see about a short term disability tag. Otherwise no, pregnant is not disabled. I have 5 kids and my twins caused ao much nerve pain so if I didn't wanna walk I'd wait for a close spot or have my husband do whatever errand or wait until I knew the store was emptier. Now it is even easier because so many places do curbside pick up. But if the pain is so bad as ro actually hinder it you can get a short term tag. My sister had one because she was on rest and wasn't allowed more than 30 min of walking at a time which the back of a Walmart of Costco could be a 20 min walk alone. She had one from week 28 through delivery.

Depends on your state. In Virginia I know you can get a temporary one from the DMV with a letter from your doctor

Recently came back from the Dominican Republic and every single place there (obviously didn’t go everywhere but went to several different kind of places) automatically offers you the handicap spaces for pregnant women. It was actually really nice visiting there while pregnant because they really do give pregnant women special treatment just about everywhere there.
