Birth plan?

Is anyone doing a birth plan this pregnancy? I didn’t do one for my first, so I want to do one this time around. To who do I show my plan? My doctors office or at the hospital during active labor?? I’m a little lost here lol

I plan to take mine with me to the hospital but i also plan to take it to one of my dr appointments to go over it with my provider so that i know we are on the same page 😁

I have one - epidural asap 😂😂😂 that and I want to try to pull baby out. Outside of that - just keep me and baby safe. I trust my midwife immensely.

Let your doctors know how you’d like your birth to go as soon as possible, that way they can make sure the whole team is up to speed with your wishes and they won’t need to keep asking you questions when you’re occupied with contractions.
Things to cover in your plan include: 
- Labour setting/position
- Birthing setting/position
- Desired method of pain relief
- Birthing partners
- If you want baby handed straight to you or if you’d like them cleaned and in a blanket first
- Who’s cutting the cord and if you want extended clamping
- Do you want to deliver your placenta naturally or would you like medical help (usually injection)

Birth plans are designed to be utilized when you're in labor! They help do two things, 1)  Solidify the things YOU want 2) Help doctors/nurses/midwives get an idea of how to treat and handle your labor. Always good to know of things you may want or not as it pertains to comfort measures, procedures, newborn care etc. You can write it down/print it off and put in your hospital bag :) And remember, you can always decline ANYTHING.
