21 month old speech
My 21 month old son talks in his own language all day, understands everything we say, points and directs us to what he wants while telling us but the only "words" that are recognizable that he can say is mama, dada, go, dog, and baba.
We are waiting on some insurance issues to go through before we can get a speech therapist. He seems to just not want to attempt to repeat after us at all. Is anyones kid in the same boat and have any recommendations? Everyone tells me he will do it in his own time and Im not particularly worried since he is verbal in his own way. We are just curious if anyone has any tips/ has gone through this.
We already watch Ms Rachel and do the typical talking about what we are doing, read to him (when he will sit still) and point at everything and tell him what it is. Hes very tactile and active and is already attempting potty training on his mini toilet.
