Is 15-20 words at 16 months realistic?
So my daughter talks ALL DAY LONG, but I’m wondering if she’s on the right track or not? She says at least 15, probably more, but they’re her version of these words. Is that normal and does it count? For instance, she’ll say “thank you” (tank uw), bless you” (bleh uw), “you’re welcome” (uw belcome), etc. and we can understand it but it isn’t CLEAR. Someone else would likely not know unless we told them and they listened. Is that still her saying that many words? Her pediatrician is just so pressing on this. She has always been a little ahead of her peers in other ways but idk if she’s where she needs to be with communication?
I don’t have any family or mom friends to ask….
