What Christmas tree should I get?

Getting our first real tree tomorrow and I know nothing about them… what should I know? What should I look out for ? What tree sheds the most? Which one smells the nicest ? Etc … thank you

Oooo what a fun post!
I like the Douglas fir trees! I go for tall and full! They have a better appearance and are often quite full. I think they smell decent too. Foresty. I cheat and stick spicy scented pine cones in mine for extra scent. The leaves are super thin and can be a pain for some people. I don’t mind because I’m more inclined to purchase a tree based on appearance. Holds ornaments well too. When purchasing, I highly recommend having the seller trim the base and at least a foot of branches. Trimming the base allows fresh access to the water. Also, if they trim the branches about a foot up from the base, it makes water access and decorating easier. Gives it a cleaner cut, lol. Just check for water every other day and you should be good!

Make sure you keep the base full with water.  Once it's set up give it a day or too for the branches to drop/spread/floof out.  Consider wearing gloves when transporting and getting it set up.....I always have a little reaction to the sap.
