Was making a registry worth it or did you need to buy everything on your own anyways?

I thought it was worth it bc I could track what I did & did not need. I made one for my 2nd child even tho I didn’t have a shower or anything bc it was solely to track what I needed.

I do a registry for each baby I’ve had and use the completion coupon to save on me buying the things I need 😬 so probably not worth it in the way you mean of people buying things off it but totally worth it to save a little money buying things myself

I made a registry when I was pregnant with my first. But not a lot of people bought from it sadly and we bought probably 70% of what was on there. :( I would say it’s worth it if people actually bought from it.

I created an Amazon Baby Registry and when I purchase $10 from it I’ll get a free gift and towards the end of pregnancy I’ll get 15% off what’s left in my registry. That makes it worth it. I have some more expensive things I’m really not expecting anyone to buy and I’m planning on buying them myself when I get the 15% off. Sometimes it just good to make a registry to get some freebies. I know Target and Walmart does freebies too when you make a registry.

It’s worth it. Even if people do not use it, you have an organized list for yourself of what you need & what you have. Also if you put a shower date and the date passes most places will give you a certain % off the remaining items. Or they will give you a coupon for % off your total purchase.

It’s basically a tracker to see what you need and people will not buy off your registry for the most part so just accept that part. Gift cards are great to have on their as well to pick out what you want. It’s a good way to know what you have gotten and need to buy and if you REALLY need it.

Outside of this app I have lots of friends and family that will get my stuff on my list in April. However, on this app not everyone is going to gift it forward unfortunately. Might be lucky if you get chosen out of the blue

I didn't put a lot on my registry because I felt like it was my baby and I would purchase all of the big important things on my own. I just put simple basics on my registry and I got a lot of diapers and onesies from my registry but I put specific bath products that were vegan and cruelty free, no more expensive than Johnson & Johnson btw some even cheaper, and NO ONE purchased the brands I asked for and they all got me Johnson & Johnson instead...which my family who is vegan and cruelty free did not use. I had SO many gift sets of all this lotion and soap I couldn't use and ended up purchasing the brands I asked for on my own. That was very frustrating to me so my next child IF I have a baby shower I'm only asking for diapers and wipes on my registry. I'll just purchase all of my specific products on my own.
I think it's worth it for simple basics like your onesies, diapers, blankets etc but in my experience specific items didn't get purchased so to me it wasn't worth adding them onto my registry.

If you plan on having a baby shower, and you know you have people willing to help you out with stuff, like the other person, said your inner circle, then definitely worth it ￼

I think it totally depends on your inner circle who will be buying for you. My friends and family were all moms, current grandmas to young kids, or had babysat regularly. Everyone bought off my registry. They almost cleared it out. My best friend with a different crowd of guests didn’t get a ton off her registry though.
