How often do you change your babies nappy?

I have a 7 week old and was recently hanging out with some people who found it so strange I Change my babies nappy after every wee…. Which means A LOT lol
What’s the norm??
My baby will start fussing the minute he does a wee every single time. But if he poops he doesn’t fuss at all. I usually only know because I can smell it. 
 
What does everyone else so?

You are doing it correctly don’t worry. Cuz if they sit in it for to long could lead to infections 😅

i do after every pee too lol if i know my son peed or pooped, i’m not letting him sit in the diaper to “get more use out of it” some moms r just cheap n lazy

For the first 1-2 months, I checked her daiper every time she ate and changed it if wet at all (14-18 per day). Once she hit the 2 month mark, if it was just a tiny bit a pee, I waited an extra hr or so before changing it to reduce the number of daipers I needed to buy (8-12 per day). Daipers are expensive, but i didn't want to risk a rash or infection with a newborn.

I changed everyone for the first few weeks. But after going through like 20 diapers a day it was just too much. Diapers are made to pull the urine and moisture away from the skin to keep baby dry. Obviously they shouldn’t be sitting in a full diaper for hours and hours but it’s ok to let them go longer if baby is comfortable. We got into a pretty good routine where we were changing after every feeding so about every 2 hours. If she pooped we’d change immediately.
