Do you let your kids play outside by themselves?

Just curious what others do. I like my kids to play outside but when I hear stories of little girls getting abducted and murdered by delivery truck drivers it makes me nervous. If you’re outside while your kids play, how do you get anything done in the house/cook dinner etc?

I let my daughter play outside in our backyard alone. 
It’s gated and has a lock, we keep the door open (not the screen) and we have two big windows that we keep open so we can see her cause she tries to climb the fence 🤦🏽‍♀️😂

I would if I could trust my daughter who is only 2. My son is 5 and can go out by himself but usually just likes to be out there when someone is out with him. We spend a lot of time outside. As far as house chores go, my husband will take them outside and while I get dinner ready and clean up. Laundry is done after bedtime. Vacuuming happens when they’re usually in the house with me at some point. It would depend on your location, their ages, etc.

No I don’t. But my child is on the spectrum. I don’t think I’d let him even if he wasn’t

No way. Only in my backyard with the locked 8 foot fence and only when I’m watching through my kitchen window the whole time. I also have cameras. We live in a different time

I do as we live rural and barely have any neighbours and my kids are 7yrs + 4yrs. If in a populated area I definitely wouldn’t

Currently since we live in a trailer for the moment, we don't have much of a yard and they can way too easily wander into the road because we can't put up a fence. So if they want to play outside, either my fiance or I (or both) have to be out there with them. If we had a regular fenced in backyard I would let them play by themselves where I can see them at all times.

Only I the front yard when me or my husband are with them but I do let them play in the back yard we have security cameras and a dog who barks if anyone is near our gates or fences. I do keep an eye on them through the windows and doors though

Yes. We live several miles from town and our house is far off the main road. I would see someone come up before they had the chance to do anything. We used to have no yard and now have a big backyard and I’m so happy. We keep an eye on her all the time though, just to be safe.

Hell no. Kids get snatched from their own yard all the time.
