How expensive are fertility medications and can they be billed?

Can vary a lot by pharmacy, dose, and medication. If you are just talking about like clomid for example I was on it for several cycles. Usually was about $20 but 1 cycle they way upped the dose needed and was $65. Insurance covered exactly zero dollars of any of our iui/ivf journey so for us no insurance didn't do anything. Our pharmacy always billed it to be safe but not a single thing was covered

It depends on what fertility medication you’re referring to. Different meds cost different as does dosage. Also depends on insurance and if there is any coverage

Mine were just under 5k each round and you have to pay up front if that’s what you mean by “billed?” It’s just like any Rx—you buy it when you get it.

I pay $5 at my local CVS pharmacy for progesterone and letrozole is covered under my fertility vendor under my insurance.
